In the aftermath of the recent deluge of rain and the consequent floods and mudslides in Madeira, many have lost their homes and belongings. We are reaching out to people here in America to help us raise funds to directly assist those who have been affected by this calamity. On Sunday, April 11 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the Club Madeirense S. S. Sacramento through its Charitable Foundation will host a dinner in the pavilion on Madeira Field in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The full proceeds of this event will be personally delivered to those in need in Madeira. Tickets cost $20.

The dinner will consist of carne de espeto (skewered barbecue beef) and galinha de assado (roast chicken) with batatas do assado (roast potatoes) and arroz (rice). A cash bar will serve Madeira wine, beer, sangria, soda and water.

Donations for Madeira relief can also be made.
